In this documentary-style travel vlog, I travel from Kandy to Colombo to explore the reality of Sri Lanka's economy, society, and recovery after the 2022 financial crisis.

From hotel prices, halal food, transportation costs, and local experiences to the streets of Colombo, this journey reveals the real side of modern Sri Lanka beyond the tourist attractions.

During my journey, I visited Colombo's Muslim neighborhood, Pettah Market, Colombo Port, historical landmarks, and iconic locations including Lotus Tower and Independence Square.

I also explore the key reasons behind Sri Lanka's economic collapse, including debt-funded mega projects, policy mistakes, the fertilizer import ban, declining agricultural production, the Easter Sunday attacks, the collapse of tourism during Covid-19, and the resulting brain drain.

Despite the crisis, Sri Lanka remains one of South Asia's most educated and disciplined societies. The country is now implementing economic reforms, rebuilding tourism, attracting foreign investment, and recovering its foreign exchange reserves.
